What this site collects

Short version: nothing that identifies you. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, no forms, no comments and no adverts. This page explains what does happen, including the parts we don't control.

The short answer

We set no cookies and ask you for nothing.

Visits are counted anonymously by Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and doesn't follow you across sites.

Booking links take you to other companies — Booking.com, GetYourGuide and the like, through our partner Stay22. Once you're on their site, their rules apply, not ours.

What we measure

The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without building a profile of you. We see totals: how many people opened a page, which country they were in, which browser they used, and how quickly the page loaded. We can't tell who you are, and we can't follow you to another site.

Cloudflare also hosts the site and protects it from attacks. Like any web host, its servers log requests, including IP addresses, for security and to keep the site up. That data belongs to Cloudflare's processing of it, and is described in Cloudflare's own privacy policy.

We don't use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, heatmaps, session recording or any social media tracking. There are no adverts on the site.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own, which is why there's no cookie banner. You may still pick up cookies from other companies if you use the parts of the page that lead to them — the booking links, the accommodation map, and a music player if you switch one on. Those are described below.

When you click a booking link

Accommodation and activity links are affiliate links. If you book through one, the provider pays us a commission at no extra cost to you. That's explained in full on the about page.

The practical effect on your privacy is this: hotel links on these pages are handled by Stay22, which adds our referral code and forwards you to the booking site — usually Booking.com. Activity links go through our own address and on to GetYourGuide. Once you arrive, you're that company's visitor: they can set cookies, they know the booking came from us, and their privacy policy governs what happens next. We never see your booking, your payment details or your name.

The Stay22 code runs on our pages to rewrite those links, and the accommodation map on each guide is a small window into Stay22's own map showing live prices. Loading it means your browser talks to Stay22 directly, and it may set cookies inside that window.

Our merch shop

The merch shop is run on Fourthwall, not on this site. If you buy something, Fourthwall takes your order, payment and delivery address and handles them under its own privacy policy. We never see your card details. Nothing about the shop runs on these guide pages.

Music players

Some pages, including the homepage, have a Spotify player. It stays switched off: until you press its button, the page fetches nothing from Spotify. Once you press it, your browser loads Spotify's player directly, Spotify receives your IP address, and it may set cookies inside that window under its own privacy policy.

Fonts

The site's typefaces are served from our own domain, so loading a page doesn't contact Google or any other font service.

What we never do

  • We don't ask for your name, email or any other personal detail — there's nowhere to enter one.
  • We don't have a mailing list.
  • We don't sell, share or trade data. We don't hold any to sell.
  • We don't show adverts or use advertising networks.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask an organisation what personal data it holds about you, and have it corrected or deleted. We hold none, so there's nothing for us to show or erase. If you believe otherwise, or you have a question about anything on this page, write to us at [email protected] and we'll answer.

For data held by the companies named above, contact them directly: Cloudflare for analytics and hosting, Stay22 and Booking.com for accommodation bookings, GetYourGuide for activities, Spotify for the music players, and Fourthwall for the merch shop.

Changes to this page

If we add anything that changes the answer — a different analytics tool, a newsletter, a new partner — this page changes at the same time, and the date below updates with it. It was last checked against the live site on 27 September 2026.
