Where to stay, and how to get home, after concerts and festivals
Travel guides for music fans. Most guides tell you an area is "well connected" and leave it there. We give you the last train, the night bus number and the walking time — what you actually need at four in the morning.

Venues
Dalhalla
A quarry seven kilometres from the nearest town. The arena runs the only bus back, charges by which town you stay in, and stops selling tickets at 11:59pm the night before.
Eden Park
Concerts until 11pm on Sundays, in a city where Sunday trains stop earliest. Half the crowd leaves by train.
Goyang Stadium
Tickets list it as Seoul, but the stadium is 24 km from Seoul City Hall, at the end of subway Line 3 — and the fast train into the city leaves from a different station.
Kai Tak Stadium
Hong Kong's new 50,000-seat stadium. The metro runs past midnight, but the last train to the Shenzhen border leaves at 22:59.
Kaohsiung National Stadium
Taiwan's biggest stadium, and most of the crowd comes down from Taipei. The last train back leaves at 22:10, before the show ends.
Knebworth Park
Six Oasis nights, camping on Saturdays only, and six hotels within 5 km. Late trains run to London until 01:30, but not north.
Philippine Arena
No train, two exits for the whole complex, and almost nothing to book nearby. Where you stay depends on where the shuttle picks up.
Red Rocks Amphitheatre
Denver now runs a free shuttle to Red Rocks, but it stops at 5pm, before doors open. The venue's own directions list nine ways to arrive, and none is public transport.
Slane Castle
Oasis in September, Fontaines D.C. in June — two nights each, and no camping at the site.
Waldbühne
Twenty-two thousand people in a forest, shows that end by 23:00, and — in the venue's words — "not yet a fixed taxi rank". The nearest station isn't always the best one to use.
Festivals
Wonderfruit
Seven areas compared on drive time, price and whether anyone will be at reception when you get back — plus the midnight gate rule that decides whether a hotel makes sense at all.
Also: Getting to The Fields
Tomorrowland Thailand
Sold out in an hour, no camping, and the hotel packages sold out too. Nobody agrees where the venue is — and the places to stay nearest it are in an area most guides miss.
Also: Getting to Wisdom Valley
Big Mountain Village
A new site where the road narrows from four lanes to two, eight thousand vehicles expected, and no traffic plan published. Most of the area's best hotels are on the far side of it.
EDC Thailand
No camping, a venue inside a resort estate, and two festivals in the same year. The hotels within walking distance are the ones telling you how far away everywhere else is.
Beyond the Valley
It moved to the other side of Melbourne in 2022, but some guides still give the old venue — with directions to a station two and a half hours in the wrong direction.
Field Day Sydney
New Year’s Day in a city park, with no camping and no re-entry. The night before is Sydney’s priciest hotel night, and trains run all night.
Lollapalooza Argentina
One late train a night, reportedly running straight past every suburb between the racecourse and the city. The areas closest to the venue are the ones it may not stop at.
Primavera Sound
Eight neighbourhoods compared on distance, price and how you get back each night — including Thursday, when the metro closes at midnight.

Fuji Rock Festival
The festival warns that you can't catch the last train home. What it doesn't spell out is that the bus queue can take an hour, and the last train leaves at 22:25.
