Getting home after the last set

Barcelona's metro hours are unusual, and they're the most important thing to understand about this festival. According to TMB's timetable, Monday to Thursday it runs 05:00 to midnight. On Friday it runs until 02:00. On Saturday it doesn't stop — it starts at 05:00 on Saturday morning and runs through the night until midnight on Sunday.

Primavera's main stages finish around 2–3am, but the club stages go on much later. In 2026 the last sets ended at 08:00 on both Thursday and Friday, and 07:45 on Saturday.

So Thursday 3 June 2027 is the night to plan for: the metro stops at midnight and the site stays open for another six to eight hours. Note too that TMB's closing times are when the last train leaves the end of the line, not when it reaches your station. El Maresme | Fòrum is near the La Pau end of L4, so the last useful train towards the city leaves at or just before midnight.

During the festival, the Trambesòs T4 runs 24 hours a day, from the Fòrum to Ciutadella | Vila Olímpica. In 2026 that was over ninety hours without a break; in 2024 it ran every twelve minutes on Thursday and Friday nights and every twenty on Saturday.

It takes you to the edge of Vila Olímpica, Barceloneta and the Born at any time of night, on any festival night, and from there most central hotels are a short walk or a quick taxi ride. It solves the Thursday problem almost completely, yet hardly any guides mention it.

One thing to check: the 24-hour service ran in 2024, 2025 and 2026, but it's announced each spring rather than permanent. Check it in May 2027 before you rely on it.

Primavera runs its own buses to the city centre, timed to cover the gap when the metro closes: from midnight on Thursday, from 2am on Friday and from 3am on Saturday, running until 5–7am. They go non-stop to Plaça Catalunya.

The price has varied — free in some years, €2–3 in others, sometimes with seats bookable in the festival app — and the drop-off has been given as both Plaça Catalunya and Plaça Urquinaona. We won't guess the 2027 price, so check the official transport page in May 2027. The timing, linked to the metro closing, has been the same every year.

Lines N6 and N7 serve the Fòrum from 23:00 to 06:00 every night. N7 is the most useful — it runs directly from the venue through Plaça Catalunya to Pedralbes. N28 also covers the Fòrum–Diagonal Mar area.

Handy to know: every Nitbus line except N0 stops at Plaça Catalunya. So take any N-line from the venue to Catalunya, then change to one for your area. Buses run every fifteen to twenty minutes. It's slower than the metro and needs a change, but it covers the whole time the festival is open.

Seventy thousand people leave at once, onto roads with traffic controls. The official taxi ranks are in front of the CCIB Convention Centre and in front of the Hilton — walk to one of those rather than waiting at the roadside.

Free Now is the best app, because it books licensed taxis on the meter, so prices can't surge. Cabify has the best private-hire coverage but uses dynamic pricing; Uber and Bolt have fewer cars here and surge a lot. Catalonia limits private-hire licences, which keeps those fleets small and is why prices spike at 4am.

And if a driver tries to charge a flat "fixed fee" instead of using the meter, that's illegal. Insist on the meter.

Walking is the only option that doesn't depend on a timetable. Diagonal Mar is a ten- to fifteen-minute walk from the gates. Poblenou is twenty-five to thirty-five minutes, flat, along the coast, with crowds heading the same way all night.

If you plan to stay late on Thursday, that's the main reason to pay extra for Diagonal Mar. The area itself is a business district with no character — what you're paying for is not having to worry about getting back.
